I think there's something about becoming a GG fangirl (or fanboy) that strips one of all common sense and logic.
I have no problem with people who build on what's given to them. Do Sol and Ky make out in GGXX? No, but there are many hints and canon supporting points that make it plausible, though not immediately true. So that's fine and dandy.
No, it's the ones who decide to put together random men that have nothing to do with each other because it would look 'pretty' that irk me. Or those who decide that oh, Bridget HAS to be 16, because he has to be slashed with somebody, and I would FEEL BAD if he were too young to be slashed! Never mind the fact that it's instantly obvious by looking at the kid (and hearing him, for that matter) that the guy has yet to reach puberty.
Then when you point this simple fact out, immediately come the wild justifications. "Some people don't reach puberty until 17". Sure, maybe one in a million. That doesn't change the fact that you're trying to slash a prepubescent boy with other people. "Maybe his parents injected him with hormones to keep him masquerading as a female". Um, sure. A world which considers science 'blacktech' uses hormones. Right.
These are not building off of canon, like Sol/Ky fans do. (Not that there aren't stupid Sol/Ky fangirls, either). These are building off of the inexorable Fangirl Impulse to Slash Hornily (FISH). I have to believe that the only way you could possibly look at say, Ky/Testament and go "Yeah, that works" is if you are 1. Totally ignorant of GG canon 2. Too overcome by being horny or 3. Both.
Funny how some of these fangirls are militant men-haters who talk about "male stereotypes of sexuality" and so on and so forth, yet they themselves are falling prey to their own sexual impulses.
Whew, end rant. Yay for ranting. I'll save the vitriol I have for Stupid Dizzy Fanboys for another time ^______^

Unfortunately Ed, I don't think we really have anything to say against being horny fangirls/boys. ^^;; *sweatdrops* However, at the very least, we are intelligent horny fangirls/boys who do not slash indiscriminately. There's something to be said about that definitely.
